Bible Reading: “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings” Isaiah 3:10 (KJV)
Prophet Isaiah was inspired by the Spirit of God to make the above statement to lift up the spirit of righteous men who happen to be a minority in the land of Judah. This minority still kept to the ways of God despite sin openly being committed by the people all around them. In these situation, it is nearly often the case that the righteous would be taunted and made fun of and their soul vexed.
This was the same case with Lot, a righteous man whose soul was vexed everyday because of the sexual immorality and pervasion all around him. Lot was so righteous he put his life and that of his family on the line to save visitors, whom he knew not, from the hands of the reprobate people around him. But God delivered him says 2 Peter 2.7-9 (NKJV), “and delivered righteous Lot, who was oppressed by the filthy conduct of the wicked [8](for that righteous man, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous soul from day to day by seeing and hearing their lawless deeds), [9] then the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations and to reserve the unjust under punishment for the day of judgment.”
David, a man who saw it all, said in Psalm 37:25 (NKJV), “I have been young, and now am old; Yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken, Nor his descendants begging bread.” God never forsakes the righteous. He always shows up for them. No matter the situation all around you, remember Lot and other righteous men who endured to the end.
No wonder Isaiah spoke to the people God’s mind, “Say ye to the righteous, that it shall be well with him: for they shall eat the fruit of their doings” Isaiah 3:10 (KJV)
Action Plan: Examine yourself today, look around you and check if you are still walking righteously before God.
