Bible Reading: Isaiah 4-6; Galatians 3
Memory verse: “For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus.” Galatians 3:26 (NKJV)
Faith is the demonstration of confidence in God and His word. Faith goes beyond the word we speak; our actions also give evidence of how true our believe in God is. No man can come to God without faith.
Abraham is the father of Faith. He heard God tell him to leave his father’s house to a place that will be shown him and he moved ‘immediately.’ Again he was asked to sacrifice his only son and he proceeded without hesitation. God had to acknowledge that Abraham truly fears Him (Genesis 22:12). The result of Abraham’s faith in God was that he became God’s friend and a transgenerational blessings came upon him such that his name became synonymous with blessings.
To partake of Abraham’s blessings, however, we must have the kind of faith demonstrated by him in believing and acting on the believe that Jesus Christ died and resurrected to bring man back to God. Without this faith in the finished work of Jesus on the cross, no man can come close to God. Hebrews 11:6 says “without faith it is impossible to please God.”
God has extended this Sonship invitation to the whole world because Jesus died for all men. If you believe in this act of love you must reciprocate it by going out to share this good news. Only then will you be demonstrating the kind of faith Abraham had.
Prayer: Father increase my faith in You and Your word in Jesus name.
