Bible Reading: Isaiah 27-28; Ephesians 5
“For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.” – Ephesians 5:30 KJV
Our text is a revelation of our part in Christ Jesus because it says we are, “…MEMBERS of His body…” and it further explains it by saying, “… of HIS FLESH and BONES…”!
Just think about this for a moment: Our physical body is a member of Christ’s resurrected body. Our body is His very flesh and bone and He is nourishing and cherishing our body because He cares about our body.
1 Corinthians 6:15 says, “Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.” Our body parts are Jesus’ body parts.
Jesus is interested in our physical well-being because we are one flesh with Him as members of His body after new birth in Christ (born again).
The way He nourishes our physical body is through the teaching and revelation of His Word. “My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.” Proverbs 4:20-22 (KJV). Truly, His Word is life and health (medicine).
I admonish you today as you go about your day make these truths your meditation and you’ll experience life and health in a whole new dimension.
Prayer: Father, open my heart to receive the truth of your word as a member of Christ’s body to reflect in my physical body.
