Bible Reading: Isaiah
“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” – Ephesians 6:13 (KJV)
The greatest battle ground in life is the mind of the believer. This is where many either win or lose in life, but God through Christ Jesus has given us the victory!
The moment someone gets born again, spiritually that person automatically takes a victory position alongside Christ Jesus. Ephesians 2:6 says, “… and RAISED US UP TOGETHER, and MADE US SIT TOGETHER in the HEAVENLY places in Christ Jesus.” This is our spiritual position as a born again Christian by reason of what Jesus has done! There is no principality in all the spiritual realm that is above Jesus Christ or the believer and we must always remember this truth.
Many believers have misunderstood warfare to mean that we are in a spiritual ‘combat’ with the devil and his demons in order to defeat him. If that is true then it means Jesus didn’t technically defeat the devil. But we know from the scriptures that Jesus did and made an open show of principalities. “And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.” Colossians 2:15
As Christians we don’t wrestle to win, we wrestle to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 says, “Put on the whole armour of God, that you may be able to STAND against the wiles of the devil.”
Our text reaffirm the need to stand in other to withstand the evil day (Ephesians 6:13). Also, Ephesians 6:14 says, “Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”
As a child of God your warfare has been accomplished and you have the victory but the devil will always want to engage you mentally through the activities of strong regimented demons by bringing appearances and events that will make your mind want to wonder, and ask questions like “If I am victorious, why are all these things like this?” He will show you images and pictures like he did to Jesus in Matthew 4 when he tempted Him. But as a child of God, you must guard your mind through prayer and constant meditation in the Word of God so that you don’t forget who you are, what you have and the authority that you wield in the name of Jesus.
The purpose of putting on the whole armour of God is so that you can stand because your victory is always sure in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Father, thank you for the victorious position you have secured for me in Christ Jesus over all principalities and powers.
