Bible Reading: Jeremiah 17-19; 1 Timothy 6
Memory verse: “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.” Jeremiah 17:7 (KJV)
Trust, according to Oxford dictionary, is “firm belief in the reliability, truth, or ability of someone or something.” Going by this definition, only God qualifies to be trusted; He is reliable, He is the truth because whatever He says comes to pass and He has the ability to make things happen. God created man to trust in Him all the days of his life here on earth.
Many today trust in things and persons. Whatever you trust in more than God is automatically a god in your life. Trusting in another man incurs a curse, says Jeremiah 17:5 (KJV), “Thus saith the LORD; Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD. [6] For he shall be like the heath in the desert, and shall not see when good cometh; but shall inhabit the parched places in the wilderness, in a salt land and not inhabited.”
God wants or designed man to forever trust Him. As long as we are on this earth we must depend on Him in whatever we do because He created us. Only then can we live a fulfilled and blessed life like the servants of old like David and Daniel who kept their whole heart on Him.
What or who have you been trusting in? Remember, trusting in another man makes one not see good because it is a curse. No man knows what his tomorrow will be unless revealed to him by God. Trusting in God makes him keep His eyes on you.
Prayer: Dear Father, I receive grace to be deliberate and conscious of my trust in you in every area of my life in Jesus name.
