Bible Reading: Zechariah 7-9; Revelation 19.
Memory Verse: “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.” Revelation 19:9 (KJV)
The day of wedding of most couples is usually one of Joy as they dream of coming together to become one and start a new family. Though both the bride and bridegroom know that the marriage will have its ups and downs, they hardly think of the downsides but very optimistic and look forward to the pleasures, joy, peace and better understanding of spouse. These are some of the expectations of a couple of corruptible vessels, can you then imagine if you are going to get married to an incorruptible vessel who will not break your heart, where there will not be sorrow, pain, disaffection or any of such negative emotions! That is the situation of anyone that is called for the marriage with the Lord Jesus Christ, the Lamb of God. The Bible declares such a person is blessed. Revelation 19:9 (KJV) says “And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.”
This marriage will take place after the rapture and it will be for those who lived a life of holiness till the point of death or rapture. The Bible says Jesus is coming for believers who patterned their lives after hitm. “That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.” Ephesians 5:27 (KJV)
How do you live your life now both in secret and in the open? God can see everything and all will be considered in deciding whether one is right with God or not. For each of us on earth, there is a record of our actions and inactions. This record will be examined to know if you lived a life patterned after the Lord Jesus Christ. Those who do would be invited for the wedding while others will be faced with judgment for their works ( Revelation 20:12-15).
This explains those who qualify for the wedding; they are those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Saviour and have lived a life of holiness till the end of their life on earth. Jesus said of those people in Matthew 7:21 (KJV), “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.”
These would be married to the Lord Jesus Christ; they are called for the supper of the Marriage to the lamb. So if you are a backslider or have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you need to reconcile yourself to him urgently to be part of this supper. Those who are not called for this supper are those that are not right with God and will face dire consequences.
Prayer point: Father, please help me to finish my Christian race well and strong in Jesus Christ’s name.
