Bible Reading: Exodus 27-28; Matthew 21:22-46
“For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron’s rod swallowed up their rods” Exodus 7:12 (KJV)
From our opening verse of scripture, it reveals to us the supernatural superiority of believers in God’s kingdom. Many believers do not know that the realm of the Spirit is real and that there are good and bad spirits there. Some also fail to realize that man is a spiritual being that can access and interact with the realm of the spirit. In 1 Thessalonians 5:23 Paul prayed that, “And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ”. Man is a tripartite being (i.e.spirit, soul and body). His existence is more in the unseen than in the seen realm and because man is an ‘eternal’ being, those who are not born again can also access the spiritual realm via their spirit and their soul! Reason Pharaoh’s magicians could also turn the rods in their hands into snakes because it was a spiritual principle and act they had learned and practiced. Exodus 7:11(KJV) says, “Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments.”
One of the ways evil people seek to establish their rule in their space is by the art of ‘saying’ things. They chant and conjure evil spirits like the sorcerers in Egypt did. God, however, demonstrated to the magicians of Egypt that even in the realm of the spirit there are levels of authority and superiority. The highest level of authority is the position where the Almighty God sits! It is this same position that Jesus has been exalted to sit upon! And the good news is that He has raised every believer up to sit together with Him in this most exalted position. Ephesians 2:6 (KJV) says, “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:”
As a child of God, you are sitting in the ‘very’ same place with Christ Jesus! The same way that Aaron’s rod swallowed up the ‘rods’ of the magicians of Egypt is the same way God wants every child of His to rise in the consciousness of his/her position and authority in Christ and swallow up every work of the enemy around them. You need to be conscious of your authority as a believer and begin to deliberately declare it in the place of prayer if you don’t want to suffer the manipulations of wicked people who exercise a negative influence on the earth. The Psalmist said in Psalms 74:20 (KJV), “Have respect unto the covenant: for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.”
You are born to reign, rule, and dominate in life! You are not at the mercy of anybody or an institution. While the devil through evil people seeks to establish the reign of wickedness, you must as a child of God rise to take your place and subdue them. Know that doing nothing doesn’t exempt you from the influence of satanic agendas – be it in your personal life, career, business, or family. Until you have understood your position in Christ Jesus and begin to exercise dominion, you will live an ordinary life when you were born for something more! It is time to rise in faith and begin to wield your authority in Christ Jesus.
Prayer: Thank You Father for the privilege of sitting with Christ Jesus in the most exalted position of authority. I refuse and reject any form of manipulation of the wicked in Jesus Name.
