Bible Reading: Exodus 33-34; Matthew 23:1-20
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.“ – John 1:12-13 (KJV)
There is evil, hardship, and pain in the world but God never designed for it to be so. The fall of man in the garden of Eden is what put mankind in subjection to the forces that hinder their quest for true happiness and success in life. Romans 3:23 says, “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” To fall short of God’s glory means to fall short of God’s best for man because originally he was created to be in charge! The fall makes it impossible for any person of natural birth; born into this broken world to walk in victory over the forces that seek to keep men born of women bound.
Redemption through Christ Jesus however restores you to the place of dominion and victory. Through Christ Jesus, you can now make sense of life and live victoriously over whatever the devil tries to throw at you. 1 John 5:4-5 says, “For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?” This means that anyone born of God is designed by God to have a different experience. Our text says that as many as have received Jesus into their hearts have been given the right and authority to become the ‘Children of God.
While many believers accept this truth mentally, they rarely sit to think about the gravity of what it means or what has happened to them. They rather focus on the challenges rather than the life they have received and it is the reason they struggle. To be a child of God means to have His very life in you and as such you can live above the troubles of this life by your faith in His unfailing Word.
Beyond the physical nature, never forget that in Christ Jesus you are more than a person born of a woman because you are born of God.
Prayer: Father, I thank you for Your life-given spirit that is manifesting in me.
