Bible Reading: Numbers 22-23; Mark 2:1-14
“God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.” – 1 Corinthians 1:9
As believers, we are born of the Holy Spirit from the very womb of God as God’s children. In the same way every earthly father imparts his DNA and his “nature” to his children, God our Father has also imparted His very DNA into us and as such we share God’s divine nature with Jesus as we do with our siblings. This is our current reality and the truth of the Gospel.
God in His faithfulness not has gladly, joyfully, and willingly shared His nature with us. People work so hard to belong to certain groups and guilds to enjoy certain privileges but the Father through the sacrifice of Jesus and our faith in that sacrifice has made us “fellows of divinity with Christ.” He has brought us into the guild of divinity with Christ.
To be in fellowship with the Son means we have been invited to ‘co-share’ the life of Jesus.
Because you have been called. Jesus is your friend; He is your partner and you are a ‘joint heir’ with Him. Romans 8:17 says, “ And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.” By accepting Jesus’ sufferings as your suffering, you have everything that Jesus has. You own all that He owns.
This understanding and consciousness changes the whole complexion of our attitude towards life when we know that anything and everything that belongs to Jesus belongs to us as it belongs to Him. As you meditate on these truths and allow them to possess your faculty and thoughts, it becomes impossible for you to fail or lose and it gives you the boldness to approach life with confidence.
Prayer: Father, thank you for the divinity I share with Christ Jesus. Help me to walk in this consciousness in Jesus Name.
