Bible Reading: Judges 8-9; Luke 8:22-56.
Memory Verse: “And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, [44] Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.” Luke 8:43-44 (KJV)
The woman having an issue of blood had gone to several physicians for healing, hoping to be set free from a disease that held her bound for twelve years but she did not get healed. She spent all her earnings to no avail. However, she did not lose hope. She kept her hope of living alive and apparently continued to seek for ways of getting her healing.
In the process of her search for ways out, she learnt of the Lord Jesus and she made up her mind to visit Him. She believed in Him that He would be able to heal her even if she is unable to talk to Him. That is clear from Matthew 9:21 (KJV), “For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”
Based on her believe, she went to where Jesus was preaching to cities and villages and saw Jesus moving with a lot of people around Him. The Bible reports her case in Luke 8:43-44 (KJV), “And a woman having an issue of blood twelve years, which had spent all her living upon physicians, neither could be healed of any, [44] Came behind him, and touched the border of his garment: and immediately her issue of blood stanched.” It is important to note the key steps that the woman with the issue of blood took to put a permanent end to her challenge:
First is seeking information on how to resolve her challenge. She did not believe that her problem could not be solved. In her search, she learnt about Jesus and she had faith in Him to cure her. The next step is to believe that Jesus can solve the problem. Luke 1:37 (KJV) says, “For with God nothing shall be impossible.” Thereafter she decided to consult Jesus. That consultation could have been physical contact, sending someone to Jesus to pray for her (Luke 7:2-10) or touching Jesus indirectly by touching His garment. This is what the woman did. In your case, all you need is to talk to Jesus directly by calling on Him and asking Him to intervene in your challenge. Just ask for mercy to forgive you in any way you have sinned against God, thank Him for all He has done for you and praise Him for who He is and then present your challenge to Him and watch how He will intervene and make way for you.
However, you need to have a good relationship with Him by accepting Him as your Lord and Saviour, if you have not done so already. Then watch Him intervene in your situation.
Action Point: Call on Him and present your challenges to Him and he will answer you.
