Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 10-12; Luke 13: 22-35.
Memory Verse: “And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.” 1 Samuel 11:12 (KJV).
Saul was chosen to be the king over Israelites (1 Samuel 10:1). But when Samuel came to Mizpeh and presented Saul to the Israelites as their king, (1 Samuel 10:24) while a band of men went home with him in apparent celebration, some others did not recognize him but Saul did not bother. In 1 Samuel 10:27 (KJV), the Bible says “But the children of Belial said, How shall this man save us? And they despised him, and brought him no presents. But he held his peace.”
Thereafter, the Ammonites came to besiege Jabesh gilead with a view to taking them as their slaves. While they are willing to serve the Ammonites, the latter requested that all their eyes will be plucked out as a reproach to Israel. Well, the Jabesh gilead decided to seek for help of Israel and Saul gathered an army and faced the Ammonites. They slew the Ammonites so much that no two of them could stand together. With this result, Saul was immediately acknowledged as king as stated in 1 Samuel 11:12 (KJV), “And the people said unto Samuel, Who is he that said, Shall Saul reign over us? bring the men, that we may put them to death.”
What is the situation you are facing that opposition is rising up against you? Just ensure you are working in line with the Holy Spirit and you are diligent in your assignment. Proverbs 22:29 KJV says “Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.”
Be assured that God will raise helpers for you that will make your work to stand out and will cause your adversaries to acknowledge your leadership role. However, if you do not have Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you need to repent and ask him to save you so that you can be protected, directed and be an achiever without fear of any adversary because Jesus is the most powerful and you will have him as your ally once you accept him as your Redeemer!
Prayer point: Father, let my achievement speak in my area of operation in Jesus Christ’s name.
