Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 15-16; Luke 20:27-47.
Memory Verse: “And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Lord, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.” 2 Samuel 15:31 (KJV)
Faith in Christ is very critical for a true Christian living. If you have faith in Christ and fellowship with him regularly, then the word of God in Luke 1:37 will continuously come through for you. The Bible says in 2 Samuel 16:23 (KJV), “And the counsel of Ahithophel, which he counselled in those days, was as if a man had enquired at the oracle of God: so was all the counsel of Ahithophel both with David and with Absalom.” So it appeared the faith of David was settled since Ahithophel had pitched his tent with the rebel son of David, Absalom.
The first counsel he gave to Absalom is in 2 Samuel 16:21 (KJV), “And Ahithophel said unto Absalom, Go in unto thy father’s concubines, which he hath left to keep the house; and all Israel shall hear that thou art abhorred of thy father: then shall the hands of all that are with thee be strong.” And Absalom did not even ask any question, he obeyed immediately.
However, David had faith in God and he believed that whatever he asked him, no matter how seemingly impossible, will be done. So he prayed a simple prayer to God in 2 Samuel 15:31 (KJV), “And one told David, saying, Ahithophel is among the conspirators with Absalom. And David said, O Lord, I pray thee, turn the counsel of Ahithophel into foolishness.” And God answered speedily as shown in 2 Samuel 17:14 (KJV), “And Absalom and all the men of Israel said, The counsel of Hushai the Archite is better than the counsel of Ahithophel. For the Lord had appointed to defeat the good counsel of Ahithophel, to the intent that the Lord might bring evil upon Absalom.”
And Ahithophel went to hang himself when he found that his counsel was not followed ( 2 Samuel 17:23).
So, it does not matter how certain an event is or how impossible it seems, as long as you can pray and believe that God will answer your prayer, God will make a way for you. What are you going through now? What challenges are confronting you? It does not matter how long or seemingly intractable it seems, pray to God concerning it and believe that God will answer you. You will testify shortly concerning the issue.
Prayer point:
Father, intervene in the current challenges facing me (mention them) in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
