Bible reading: 1 Chronicles 23-25; John 11:1-17
Memory verse: “Now Jesus loved Martha, and her sister, and Lazarus.” John 11:5 (KJV)
The fact that you are friends with Jesus or He loves you does not mean you are immune or exempted from the challenges in the world. No! We already live in a wicked world ruled by the wicked one. The closer you are to Jesus the more the chances of you being the target of the evil one like he did Job. But God never leaves His own unattended to.
When Jesus received a message from the sisters of Lazarus that their brother whom He loved was very sick. He immediately told His disciples, “…This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby” John 11:4 (KJV). As long as you are a child of God your challenges are meant to bring God glory through what He will do for you in that situation.
Jesus proved this love by finally taking time to go to the same region where, according to His disciples, “The Jews of late sought to stone thee, and goest thou thither again?” John 11:8b (KJV). Taking the risk of being stoned to go back to the area is a proof that Jesus will always come through to you no matter where you are being held by the devil. Remember, Daniel prayed, and an angel was sent with the answers but was delayed on the way by a principality (Daniel 10). But in the end, Daniel got answers.
Your business may be hard hit yet you love God and He loves you too. Your relationship, career, family may face difficulty yet you have Jesus as a friend. Never let that situation pull you away from loving God. He will always come through to His beloved in His own way and time. Remember, His ways are very different from ours. Isaiah 55:8 (KJV), “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.”
Every child of God may be challenged spiritually but is expected to overcome because God works with you and through you and He has said, I will never leave you nor forsake you (Hebrews 13:5)
Prayer: Dear Father, I thank You for all the challenges thrown my way. I receive grace to align with You patiently till Your glory manifest through these challenges.
