Bible Reading: Job 21-22: Acts 10:1-23.
“My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart” Proverbs 4:20-21(KJV).
The power of God is demonstrated in our life through the word of God that reside in our heart that we confess. The quantum of God’s word stored and believed in in our heart determines the intensity of light we emit and the victories we have in the affairs of life. The earth and all therein came into existence through the creative instrumentality of God’s word. God’s word is a carrier and channel of divine power. God’s word illuminates the mind, eliminates ignorance and sharpens the human intellect because therein lies the wisdom of God. The word of God that created the earth and all that is therein, incarnated in Christ Jesus to redeem and reconcile man to God. The entrance of God’s words into the heart of men release understanding. In Psalm 119:130(KJV) the Psalmist declares that. “The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple” The knowledge and intake of God’s word produces success and prosperity in human endeavor. This is stated in Joshua 1:8(KJV) “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shall meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then shalt thou make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success” This scripture agrees with our bible reading in the book of Job chapter twenty-two from verse twenty-one which will be our main examination to discover the immense benefit associated with laying up the word of God in our heart. Receive, I pray thee, the law from his mouth, and lay up his word in thine heart. If thou return to the Almighty, thou shalt be built up, thou shall put away iniquity far from thy tabernacles”. From the next verse of this scriptures it began enumerating the benefits associated with laying up His words in our heart with the word ‘then’, which means having done that. When we lay up His word in our heart and put away iniquity far from our tabernacles we will begin to lay up gold as dust and the stones of the brooks this represents great riches and wealth, God becomes our defense, our delight begin to synchronize with the delight of God and we begin to put our complete trust in Him. This is what the scriptures meant in Psalm 34:5(KJV) “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed”. When we lay up God’s word in our heart, when we pray in line with His Word He answers us because His word must accomplish that it is set out to achieve (Isaiah 55:11). Because His word is in our heart we can never default in paying up our vows. The word of God in Revelation 5:10(KJV) states, “And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth” When the word of God resides in our heart we can invoke our kingly authority by decreeing things that will be established through the power of His light that shine upon our ways. By His word in our heart we will be elevated while others are being cast down. Having God’s word in our heart and always confessing it, releases the power of God for our victory and triumph.
My dear reader please note that Jesus Christ is the incarnate Word of God and is the manifestation of God in human form. He came to pay the price of sin in order to redeem us and restore man’s lost glory. By His redemption we can declare “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me” Philippians 4:13(KJV). Dear reader for you to be a recipient of the working power of God’s word you need to accept Jesus Christ into your life as your Lord and Saviour. The implanting of God’s word in the heart of a man is the work of the Holy Spirit whom you receive at redemption. The benefits associated with having God’s word are unquantifiable and numerous. Please make haste to surrender your life to Him
Prayer: Father, engrace me with your word in my heart that I might not sin against you.
