“But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die”. – Deuteronomy 18:20(KJV)
There are several prophets these days. Some of them are from God while quite a number of them are not of God. God Himself warned us earlier by his message in Deuteronomy 18:20(KJV) which says …”But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die”.
I read of a prophet in an African country that said he must stand on human beings to deliver his sermons! And they showed some of his congregation members kneeling down on whose back the preacher stood and delivered his message. But the bible says clearly in Matthew 23:11(KJV). “But he that is greatest among you shall be your servant”.
So how do I know a false prophet of God? The bible states in Deuteronomy 18:22 that if his prophesies do not follow the word of God as in the above example, then he is not a prophet of God.Secondly, if his prophecies do not come to pass. Thirdly if his ways are not in line with the word of God. Fourthly if he does not manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23(KJV). …”But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law”.
Such prophets are agents of death and every child of God should run away from them so that they are not polluted.
Prayer: God, all plants you have not planted in your church, uproot them in Jesus name.
