Bible Reading: Psalm 120-123 1 Corinthians 6
Memory Verse: “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV).
When I finished my first degree, I was posted to Abuja to serve during my NYSC in Nigeria. Coming from an indigent family, I needed more money than my Youth Service Allowance then but I didn’t know how to get it. Nonetheless, I left home for the program. After the induction program, all the youth corpers were to be posted to their various places of primary assignment and one of us travelled to Lagos, got a letter of reference from a bank that he should be posted there for service.
He brought the letter and gave it to the Camp Commandant. When it was time for posting the Camp Commandant decided that it was wrong for the Corper to have gone for a letter of reference and he was not going to be given any preferential treatment. So he decided on his criteria for deciding who would be posted to the bank and he chose me! On getting to the bank, they accepted me and gave me additional monthly allowance that exceeded my need. I never thought my need could be met that way since I did not have any human connection that could ensure I was posted to a place like that!
God apparently knew my need and arranged for someone to work for me without knowing it. Whatever your need is, just wait on the Lord. Don’t imagine how it would be met because you may not know. Just depend on him. Isaiah 65:24 (KJV) says, “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.” God will answer you and meet your need today. Just ensure you remain steadfast in your fellowship with Him. However, if you have not been steadfast in your love for Him, you need to rededicate yourself and you will experience His mightiness. He is the ready help in times of need. The Psalmist says in Psalm 121:1-2 (KJV), “I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. [2] My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.”
If on the other hand, you are yet to accept Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you cannot lay hold on any of His promises. You need to repent of your sins, commit yourself to forsake all sinful ways, accept Him into your life as your Lord and Saviour and continuously seek to know Him more by studying the Bible regularly.
Action point:
Thank God for saving you and hearkening unto your cries.
