Bible Reading: Psalm 145-147; 1 Corinthians 11:1-15.
Memory Verse: “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. [18] The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.” Psalm 145:17-18 (KJV).
A man of God was asked the question “Does God owe us justice? “ His answer was profound as he said God is Justice. A lot of people have raised the issue as to whether God is responsible for all the tragedies that happen to people having been told that He is a good God!
The answer is found in God’s response to Paul when he asked that the infirmity in his body be removed. “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9. (KJV). So some things happen to people sometimes to equip them or show them the path to their desire. Thus, someone who asked for strength and God gave him difficulties to overcome to make him strong because the process will cause him to develop with understanding is similar to Apostle Paul’s situation. Similarly, someone who asked for wisdom and God gave him problems to solve so that he can deduce wisdom from his application of knowledge already acquired by him.
So, to one who asked for courage and was given dangers to overcome, he will develop the capability to cope with such dangers in future because he has learnt by experience. And lastly, the person who prayed for love and was given troubled people to deal with will grow into love as he navigates his ways through those he has to contend with everyday! No wonder the bible says in Isaiah 55:9 (KJV), “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts “
Gold is refined by going through fire and so is the situation with most of us as we go through challenges to bring the best out of us. And only God who knows all things can truly bring out the best in each individual at a particular time. That’s why David wrote in Psalm 145:17-18 (KJV), “The Lord is righteous in all his ways, and holy in all his works. [18] The Lord is nigh unto all them that call upon him, to all that call upon him in truth.” because He is a Just God.
Action Point:
Praise Our God who is Just for who He is.
