Bible Reading: Isaiah 37-38; Philippians 4
“I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.” – Ecclesiastes 9:11
The basic operating system for a successful life is called the Favour Factor. It is the favour of God that orders your step into the right place at the right time, delays you, and obstructs you in order to have a miracle.
An example of the operation of favour can be seen in the life of the woman of Shunem whose son died and was supernaturally raised back to life by the prophet Elisha (2 King 4:8-37). God used this same prophet to alert the woman of a famine that was coming upon the land. She escaped the famine by going to the land of the Philistines for 7 years (2 Kings 8:1-4).
After the famine, the woman returned to her land and discovered that she had lost her properties. She needed her inheritance restored. She needed favour and God divinely orchestrated things for her.
2 Kings 8:4-6 says, “And the king talked with Gehazi the servant of the man of God, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, all the great things that Elisha hath done. And it came to pass, as he was telling the king how he had restored a dead body to life, that, behold, the woman, whose son he had restored to life, cried to the king for her house and for her land. And Gehazi said, My lord, O king, this is the woman, and this is her son, whom Elisha restored to life. And when the king asked the woman, she told him. So the king appointed unto her a certain officer, saying, Restore all that was hers, and all the fruits of the field since the day that she left the land, even until now.”
This cannot just be a coincidence; of all the stories that Gehazi could have told the king, it was this woman’s story that he told. This is called “Right place, right time, right results!”
This is our testimony in Christ because we are favoured of God. The people that matter –i.e. kings and people in authority would speak up for our sakes in Jesus Name. God will bring us abundant restoration this season in Jesus’ Name.
Prayer: Thank You Father for daily ordering my steps to be in the right place, at the right time because You have blessed and favoured me in Christ Jesus.
