Bible Reading: Zephaniah 1-3; Revelation 15.
Memory Verse: “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
As a father, when any of my sons repents of his errors and comes to me apologizing, I feel happy that the child has come back having realized his error and I indeed rejoice over such a child moreso, when I see the sincerity in his eyes.
If I, as an earthly father with all my frailties, feel that way, what do you expect of our father in heaven, in whose image we are made? Zephaniah 3:17 states the feeling of God towards his children who have truly accepted him as their Lord and Saviour. “The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save, he will rejoice over thee with joy; he will rest in his love, he will joy over thee with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 (KJV)
God is able, willing and ready to save you from the hands of satan and consequently from everlasting fire. It does not matter how far you have gone from God. No matter how deep your sins have been. He says in Isaiah 1:18 (KJV) “Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord : though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.” That invitation made through prophet Isaiah thousands of years ago is still fresh today and God who is mighty can accomplish that cleansing of your life any moment, anywhere as long as you are breathing. He did for Saul of Tarsus inspite of his sins, God saved him and rejoiced over his life. God is ready to rejoice over you even if you have backslided as long as you are willing to comeback. His love is amazing, He is ready to rejoice over you as long as you truly give your life to Him and commit to serve Him till the end. No wonder God sent Jesus from heaven to earth to take over all our sins so that He can redeem us and bring us into his presence again and laugh with us.
His doors are wide open to you to bring you back and rejoice over you just as the father of the prodigal son rejoiced with him and threw a party for his coming back. But the door will not remain open forever. The door is shut for anyone that dies and this can happen any time for anyone! So what are you waiting for? Tomorrow is the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ but a number of people may never live to see that day. That is why delay is dangerous. Come, repent of your sins and join the celebration group with Christ and leave the mourning group of satan!
Prayer point:
Father help me to keep my garment unstained till I see my Lord Jesus Christ in heaven.
