Bible Reading: Genesis 15-17; Matthew 5:27-48
Memory verse: “That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.” Matthew 5:45 (KJV)
God values people; He values His creation so much that He always has man in mind. He loves all men and want them saved that’s why He sent Jesus in the first place and bears Him witness saying, “This is my beloved son: hear ye him” Luke 9:35 (KJV). Jesus came to show us the secret of the relationship between Him and His Father; Love!
There are many reasons why Jesus came to the earth. One of the reasons is to show and teach us about God and what He does. He told us He never does anything without His Father’s approval. John 5:19 (KJV) says, “verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth his Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise.”
Jesus demonstrated to us that relationship brings people closer to God than religion! He built relationships with not so popular people of the day; He visited Zacchaeus whom He saw on the road and saved Him. Now Zaccheaus was a tax collector and hated by everybody. He met with the Samaritan woman who has had five husbands and is presently living with another man, and He saved a prostitute who was almost stoned. The point here is that Jesus meets these people and lovingly brought them to God. These set of people cannot help themselves and society tries to separate them from everyone!
God gives everyone rain, whether the person is a good person or not He has a place in God’s heart. Only Him knows what He created you for. He has this passion and commitment to see you manifest into that which He created you for. Matthew 5:44 (KJV) says, “But I say unto you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.” And if you can do exactly as the above verse says, then you become a child of God. His love to man is unconditional; no wonder Jesus never gave anyone condition before bringing them into a relationship with the Father.
How open are you to people? Do you build walls to prevent outsiders from coming in or you see people the way God sees them?
Prayer: Dear Father, help me to begin to see people the way You see them in Jesus name.
