Bible Reading: Genesis 27-28; Matthew 9:18-38
Memory verse: “The woman then left her waterpot, and went her way into the city, and saith to the men, [29] Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” John 4:28-29 (KJV)
Following Jesus begins by you joining Him in the ministry of bringing in souls. Whenever Jesus brings in any soul He expects such a one to bring in others. He saves us to save others too. If you really understand this then you will never keep quiet after you meet Him.
Jesus met a woman at a well in Samaria in an unusual hour of the day. Women usually come in earlier in the day to get water for use but she came in later than usual. Upon speaking with her, it was clear that her life story made her stay away from others. But love made Jesus seek this woman out in this hot day at a well in Samaria. Despite her initial resistance because Jews hardly share anything in common with Samaritans, she opened up to Jesus when He told her about her past.
Immediately she got to know Jesus is the Messiah she ran into town, forgetting her situation and gathered all the men in the town telling them ‘come see a man who told me everything I ever did’ (John 4:4-29). You can not encounter Jesus and not be bold and be on the move. This woman followed Jesus by inviting all the men in the city to Jesus in one day!
There’s also the story of Cornelius in Acts chapter 10, who got visited by an angel and asked him to send for Peter who will tell him about Christ. Even before he heard about Christ he prepared his whole household to receive Peter. In the end, God visited him and his household by pouring His Spirit upon this Gentile household.
Go all out this year and do things differently. Your part is required to fill the kingdom of God with souls. Share Jesus with everyone around you.
Prayer: Father, thank You for the grace to share your Son Jesus with those in my sphere. Help me LORD to do this faithfully in Jesus name.
