“If ye love me, keep my commandments”. – John 14: 15(KJV)
In the above scriptural quote Jesus is saying that only true measurement of your love for God is to keep His commandment which he gave us in John 13: 34(KJV) A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another”. The bible says that you a liar if you cannot claim you love God and hate your brother. “If a man say, I love God and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”. – 1 John 4:20(KJV). Again in 1 John 3:14(KJV) the bible says “We know that we have passed from death unto life, because we love the brethren. He that loveth not his brother abideth in death.” It is clear from scriptures that love is the greatest. Hate and envy has crept into the fold of Christ, Pastors use the pulpit to criticize one another, brethren engage themselves in legal battles, and words of hate proceed from our mouth to each order in the fold of Christ. We behave to one another with little or no love and yet we confess that we are of God. The bible says he that loveth not his brother abideth in death. This so because that individual is exposed to the arrows from the adversary. By our living and expressing love to one another we pass from death to life. Love is the strongest weapon of war, it has a disarming power over your enemies. When we love we are fortified by divine presence.
We sincerely need to begin to exercise dominion in our surrounding through the instrumentality of love. You cannot hurt love, you cannot destroy love. The more you love the more illuminated you become. We must obey the commandment to love for therein lies our strength of dominion and triumphant living. “And this commandment have we from him, that he who loveth God love his brother also.
Prayer: Father stir up the spirit of love in my heart. Grant me the grace to love like Christ. In Jesus Name.
