Topic: Hold your peace
Bible Reading: 2 Samuel 13-14; Luke 20:1-26.
Memory Verse: “And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.” Luke 20:26 (KJV)
When God gives you utterance, people who are against you will be confounded. It is therefore pertinent that you ensure you have God as your ally at all times by always pleasing Him in your conduct. He will teach you what to say.
Several years ago, a man of God was in a meeting with a number of senior men of God and they were saying things that were not true about him. He was highly disappointed and unsure of what to say given the position of the men. He of course knew that it was intended to smear his relationship with the leader of the church because he was close to him. However, while pondering on what to say, the Holy Spirit led him to Matthew 12:36 (KJV), “But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.” When he finished quoting the verse, the various wrong accusations stopped and the meeting took a new dimension.
God can always give you utterance whenever your adversaries raise their arms against you such that they will become disarmed. Such was the case when Jesus was faced by spies who asked him whether they should pay taxes to the government. By the time they heard his answer, the bible records in Luke 20:26 (KJV) “And they could not take hold of his words before the people: and they marvelled at his answer, and held their peace.”
Whoever and wherever people are ganged up against you in the office, at social events or even in the church of God, just silently ask the Holy Spirit to give you utterance and your response shall silence them permanently in Jesus name.
When you surrender to God this way and allow Him to take charge, you will realize He will provide a way of triumph for you. This is why Apostle Paul advised the Romans to leave their battles to Him as he states in Romans 12:19 (KJV), “Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.” Surely, God is the avenger of his children and will surely give you your due since He knows all the circumstances including that which may be unknown to you!
Prayer point:
Father fight all my battles for me and avenge me against all my adversaries in Jesus name.
