TOPIC: BRINGING OTHERS TO JESUS (PART 1)
Bible Reading: 1 Kings 16-18; John 1:29-51
Memory verse: “One of the two which heard John speak and followed him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother. He first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, we have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ” John 1:40-41 (KJV)
Following Christ is not just going to church but bringing others to Him. No one has ever truly met Christ and not be boldly moved to talk to others about Him. Remember the Samaritan woman who went to the well to fetch water. She distances herself from others probably because of the kind of life she was living. But upon meeting Jesus, she was lightened and boldly went into the city and gathered all the men to come see Jesus (John 4:7-42).
In our memory verse of today, Andrew, a disciple of John the Baptist, followed Jesus immediately his master pointed the Messiah out. The next thing he did was, “he first findeth his own brother Simon, and saith unto him, we have found the Messiah, which is, being interpreted, the Christ” John 1:41 (KJV).
The bible tells that the following day Jesus found Phillip, and told him, Follow me. Immediately, “Phillip findeth Nathaniel and said unto him, We have found him, of whom Moses in the law, and the prophets, did write, Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph” John 1:45 (KJV). Phillip brought Jesus to his brother same way Andrew brought Simon Peter to Jesus.
This is a great lesson to all of us. Christ saves us so we can save others. He manifests Himself to us so we can bring others too to Him. Just like the men brought their brothers, how many family members have you brought to Christ?
Action Plan: Take a look at your family members and make it a project to bring any yet to be saved to Christ this month.
