TOPIC: BRINGING OTHERS TO JESUS (PART 2)
Bible Reading: 1 Kings 19-20; John 2
Memory verse: “And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them” Luke 5:29 (KJV)
There is nothing Jesus loves more than seeing souls brought out from the kingdom of darkness into light. Heaven, as a whole, rejoices over one sinner that repented (Luke 15:7), how much more when many men were brought to Him through the invitation of the Samaritan woman; it became a feast! No wonder He told the disciples shortly before the men came from Samaria, “I have meat to eat that ye know not of” (John 4:32). His food is to get souls saved.
Jesus was again invited to a feast by Levi, a publican, whom He had earlier given an invitation to follow Him at the receipt of customs. Levi proceeded to fulfil Jesus’ desire. “And Levi made him a great feast in his own house: and there was a great company of publicans and of others that sat down with them” Luke 5:29 (KJV). The many unsaved souls at the party thrown by Levi was the food that Jesus really desired. It was indeed a feast for Jesus! Levi was so happy to have Jesus and proceeded to invite his colleagues to meet with Him!
How many of your colleagues or friends have you brought to Christ since you met Him? Lets emulate the examples of Andrew, Nathaniel, Levi and others like Cornelius. The latter brought his whole household along to come hear about Jesus. It became a feast once again for Jesus, even though He was now in heaven, as the gentiles believed and received the baptism of the Holy Ghost.
Make it your goal this month to bring members of your family, friends and colleagues to Jesus. Make a feast for Him by inviting many to the kingdom.
Prayer: Father, by your Spirit, endue me with the wisdom and utterance needed to win many souls this season in Jesus name.
