“And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:”– John 17:22(KJV)
The word of God is a sanctifier of the believer. The word of God of is light that lightens our inward being and chase away darkness from our heart. The level of in-depth of the word of God in our life determines the intensity of light we radiate. The word illuminates our path and light up our route of life – Psalm 119:105. The word drives away the darkness that is in us. The entrance of God’s word gives light and gives understanding to the simple – Psalm 119:130. The bible said in Psalm 119:133(KJV) “Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me”. The word removes iniquity from and keeps us consecrated as it points us to God’s expected standard for us to live with. The word of God keeps us away from sin and empowers us to live a holy life.Jesus prayed to the father to sanctify us through the truth for His word is truth because “….faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God”. – Romans 10:17(KJV).
“As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world”.– John 17:18. The question is how did God send Jesus into the world? He sent him as Son of God by extension God – John 10:36. He sent him as a deliverer – Romans 11:26, He sent him a Saviour– Matt.18:11, He sent him a shepherd – John 10:11. Christ abolished death and brought immortality through the preaching of the gospel“But is now made by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel”. – 2 Timothy 1:10. By his death and resurrection Christ brought into being sons of God, so he also sent us as sons of God to the world – John 1:12. He also sent us as deliverers – Mark 16:17, He sent us as saviours – “And saviours shall come up on mount zion to judge the mount of Esau; and the kingdom shall be the LORD’s. – Obadiah 1:21.As the father empowered him so has he also empowered us saying“……..All power is given unto me in heaven and earth”. – Matthew 28:18. “Behold, I give you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. – Luke 10:19. We occupy a very enviable place in Christ Jesus as stated in Colossians 2: 9-10(KJV) “For in him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:”This is the glory that the father gave him which he has transferred to us by redemption which guarantees our oneness with him
Prayer: Father, give me the grace to put my total trust in your word and jealously guide your calling upon my life. In Jesus name.
