TOPIC: KNOW WHAT BRINGS GOD’S COMMENDATION
Bible Reading: “Now it came to pass, as David sat in his house, that David said to Nathan the prophet, Lo, I dwell in a house of cedars, but the ark of the covenant of the LORD remained under curtains” 1 Chronicles 17:1 (KJV)
The above scriptures is a proof that David has God so much in his heart that God Himself confirmed it that He has found a man after His heart. Before this period no one has ever dreamt of nor imagined building a house for the LORD. But because of his love for God, David was able to imagine it. What did God Himself say about this?
Solomon would give us the answer in 1 Kings 8:18 (KJV), “And the LORD said unto David my father, whereas it was in thine heart to build an house unto my name, thou didst well that it was in thine heart.” As long as you have it in your heart to partner with God and His kingdom, you do well. This is seen in the case of the centurion whose servant was sick and ready to die. He sent the elders of the Jews asking that Jesus come heal his servant. The bible says, “And when they came to Jesus, they besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should do this: [5] For he liveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue” Luke 7:4-5 (KJV).
The bible continued by telling us that Jesus went with them and the man’s servant was healed (Luke 7) God does take lightly those who partner in building His house among other Kingdom projects. David, in the bible reading of today, after the expressing his thoughts on building a house for God, got a commendation and established his throne with a promise to him that his seed will rule after him. This is what every true King wants; to have a successor from their own loins.
What plans have you to support the kingdom work with your financial resources? Remember, before God it is a good thing and comes with its own blessings apart from commendation from God.
Action Plan: Never let any church building project go without you supporting the work financially, for God remembers this sacrifice for His house.
