TOPIC: DO NOT STOP SPEAKING
Bible Reading: 1 Chronicles 20-22; John 10:22-42
Memory verse: “Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him” John 10:31 (KJV)
The encounter Jesus had with the Jews while on earth is one we must learn from if we must remain steadfast in the kingdom work of soul winning. The same people He was sent to were the ones opposing Him the most. They called Him names like Baalzebub and a devil. Yet, Jesus never gave up on His mission to save the world.
In today’s memory verse, “Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him” John 10:31 (KJV) because they didn’t understand what He was saying. All these were documented for us to see and follow the example of our Lord Jesus Christ. He came with a message from God and was determined to deliver the message the opposition not withstanding. Moreso, He knows who He is and told them so, yet, this angered them the most.
The apostles all faced the same opposition as Jesus did. But the determination to complete their course was so strong because they saw it as a race which they must run and finish. Paul, reminded us of most of the people we would be preaching to, “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them” 2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV).
Now if the people were so blind they could not see the Messiah Himself when he came, how much more do you expect them to accept His story from you easily? Thank God for the Holy Spirit who goes with us and before us to confirm the words we speak given to us by Jesus and to comfort us so as not to despair. But those who are still with the devil will insult you, defame you and persecute you just to stop you from sharing the good news of the kingdom.
Never you give up this course and race, for in it lies the destinies of many who have been tied to you. Never let the devil dictate to you through his schemes. Just be determined to be a blessing to others in the sacrifice of your time and resources in spreading the good news.
