TOPIC: YOU INITIATE WHAT YOU GET FROM GOD
Reading: 2 Chronicles 7-9; John 13:1-17
“And he said unto them, Take heed what ye hear: with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.” Mark 4:24 (KJV)
Today’s scripture reflects the importance of what we hear and how we hear, lest we don’t benefit from the words of our Lord Jesus who admonishes us to “pay attention” to what we hear. Because it is possible to listen and yet not pay attention. The level to which we have access to the revelation of God’s word depends on how we receive and act on the words we hear.
Insight into God’s word is given more to those who truly want to hear and received It. Those who desire to know. The bible says, “Through desire a man, having separated himself, seeketh and intermeddleth with all wisdom.”– Proverbs 18:1 (KJV). God gives His word and tunes the ear to hear that part the hearer is responsible to bring forth, so that what may be made known of God can be revealed, that God might be glorified. Whoever glorifies God in revealing that part of Him that was made known or revealed to them will receive even greater revelation to make known greater insights that God might be glorified all the more through that same individual.
God does not bestow His grace equally upon all people. He gives more to those who believed and acted upon His Word, those who do not believe and act on His Word may lose even the little grace they have. “For he that hath, to him shall be given: and he that hath not, from him shall be taken even that which he hath.” Mark 4:25 (KJV).
When we put effort into the study of God’s word, listening and paying attention to what it says, not only would we receive from God more understanding of His word, but we will also receive more insights and revelations in the word of God to glorify Him.
Prayer: Father, help me to be sensitive and listen to your word with understanding so I can grow in your grace and wisdom.
