TOPIC: SPEAK THE WORD
Bible Reading: Job 19-20; Acts 9:23-42
“A sower went out to sow his seed: and as he sowed, some fell by the way side; and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it.” – Luke 8:5
Everything that God will ever do in our lives will begin with the seed of His Word being planted in our hearts “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” – Luke 8:11. Anytime you hear God’s Word a seed is sown in your heart. That seed is meant to grow and produce fruits in our lives with time.
Luke 8:15 says, “But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” Patience is key to fruit bearing because the Word of God works through a process of time and the devil will try to steal the Word by planting contrary thoughts in your mind. These thoughts are the ‘birds of the air’ that try to devour the seed of God’s Word planted in your heart.
Jesus said, “Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed?” – Matthew 6:31. This means you can pick and choose which thought to take and which thought to throw away – it is absolutely in your power. The way you take thoughts is by worrying and eventually speaking those thoughts. Jesus said, “… take no thought, SAYING…” If you don’t speak to them, they die.
Anytime the devil sends a negative thought to your mind, instead of receiving it, open your mouth and declare God’s Word concerning that thought by saying to the devil, “It is WRITTEN: “The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want. So I declare that which God says concerning me!” This is how Jesus handled the thoughts that the devil threw at Him when he was tempted in Luke 4. Note that anytime you speak, thoughts disappear because words gives life to thoughts.
In the same vein, anytime the Word of God throws a thought into your mind, receive it by saying it out. Your labour of faith is not to help the seed grow, it is to keep the birds of fear, defeat, failure, and low self-esteem away because once the seed is planted in your heart, the job is done. With time the fruit of that Word will manifest in your life.
Prayer: Father I guard the seed of Your Word in my heart and I receive my harvest with patience in the Name of Jesus.
