Topic: Revealing God’s Glory
Bible Reading: Psalm 109-111; Romans 16.
Memory Verse: ”His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.” Psalm 111:3 (KJV)
The earth is full of wonders. When you look at various parts of the earth and see the various interconnectivity, you will wonder at the mightiness of God. Take for example, the animal kingdom; I was watching the geographic channel one day and I saw a hungry lion seeking for various ways to kill a large tortoise for its meal. It tried all it could stamping its feet on the shell with the intention of breaking it. But the tortoise just kept itself inside the shell while the whole attack was going on.
After it could not succeed, the lion walked away and the tortoise sensing the danger had passed, slowly tucked out its head from the shell and crawled away. I wonder how God has given animals features of protection against predators and also how they use such to protect themselves.
I thus marvel at the greatness of God and have a greater understanding of the word of God in Psalm 111:3 (KJV), “His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever. His glory shows in every work of his, whether animals or trees or even non living things! Thus the signature of God in every thing he creates is his glory and honour in it!”
Now to human being, God has created us in his image. Genesis 1:27 (KJV) says, “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.” So it implies we should also show the glory of God in everything we do. In your speech, action or inaction, you should ask yourself if you glorify God and whatever will not bring glory to God should be avoided like a plaque. But you really cannot do this by your natural self because as it is stated in Jeremiah 17:9 (KJV), “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” So,except your heart is regenerated, you will not be able to show forth God’s glory and so you need to be born again. You need a rebirth, transformation of your heart so that you become loving. So if you have not known Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, you need to call Him now, repent of your sins and ask that He gives you a new heart so that you can truly reflect His image in your actions going forward.
Prayer Point:
Father, by your grace, let me show forth your glory in everything I do from now on in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
