Topic: Are you a pollutant?
Bible Reading: Psalm 119:105-176; 1 Corinthians 5
Memory Verse: “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.” 1 Corinthians 5:1 (KJV)
The church is a consecrated place for praying to God. It is a holy place and the Lord Jesus said this much in Matthew 21:13 (KJV), “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.” These days, what do we see in many churches? Those who profess to be Christians but are involved in atrocities that should not be heard of even unbelievers! This is one of the concerns of Apostle Paul when he learnt that among Corinthians, there was a church member who was sleeping with his step mother! He said in 1 Corinthians 5:1 (KJV), “It is reported commonly that there is fornication among you, and such fornication as is not so much as named among the Gentiles, that one should have his father’s wife.”
But these days we have such pollutants in several churches. They include choir members who sleep with each other; ushers who steal offerings, pastors who sleep with members of the congregation, workers who steal from their employers, ministers who tell lies and fraudsters who speak in tongues among several other atrocities.
These are pollutants of the sacred place of worship and unfortunately they are increasing in number! These are pollutants that are making the altar cold instead of burning with fire!
There was an ordained minister of the gospel who was managing the treasury of a multinational which had excess cash which it placed with banks. This minister connived with the company’s bankers and agreed that part of the interest due to the company’s invested fund should be paid to his personal account while the balance be paid to the company! This ordained minister would pray in tongues for the bank officials when they take the commission to him in his office!
People like that would go to the altar and be delivering messages to others and you wonder why the church is cold and all sorts of devil agents now go there comfortably? Well all pollutants will be judged and end up in lake of fire except they repent here on earth before they die! This is why Apostle Paul said the Corinthians should bring out the fornicator in their midst and remove him from the church so that he will not pollute others and may be saved on the last day! He said in 1 Corinthians 5:5 (KJV), “To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus.”
Are you a pollutant in the church, you need to repent now and be saved from eternal condemnation.
Action Point:
Examine yourself if you are a pollutant; repent and ask for mercy from God with a promise to live a life of holiness going forward.
