Topic: Don’t Shake Hands With The Devil
Bible Reading: Proverbs 21-22; 2 Corinthians 4.
Memory verse: “In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God , should shine unto them” 2 Corinthians 4:4 (KJV)
There was a day I was mocked by my colleagues at my place of work back then for being a born again Christian, who lets opportunities pass him by. Before that day, I have been approached by two others who wanted me to sign a totally different amount for an expenses incurred in my unit with a mouth watering reward. I refused. And that became the beginning of mockery for me that particular period. I bore it all by the grace of God. It was not easy for me that year.
Months passed and I overcame that season as God kept me going and looking better even with little pay. One day, one among the same colleagues who mocked me came to me and said he admires my faith and stance in God especially in areas that has to do with money. He said he is aware what God’s word said but could not stand by it as it will affect him and his family. I was shocked! He knows the word but do not believe it. He would rather steal from the company to take care of his family than wait for God.
The systems of this world is run by the devil who makes life difficult for anyone who decides to follow God’s way. But the more one is getting a handshake from this wicked ruler, the more difficult it would be for such a one to extricate himself from the grip this world system would have had on the individual. There are many out there who the devil has captured with his lies. These are those who mainly did not believe the word when it first came to them.
Jesus boldly declares, “…For the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.” John 14:30 (KJV). He tempted Jesus with all the kingdoms of the world. Refusing to follow God will give the devil an open invitation towards you, because it is either you are for God or against Him. God is faithful to keep and protect those who follow His ways.
We need to intercede on behalf of the multitudes in the world today who are held bound by the blindfolding power of the evil one. Only then can souls be saved.
Prayer: Father, in the name of Jesus, remove all blindfolds of the enemy from those ordained to be saved.
