…Spreading the gospel of Christ

TOPIC: PROSPERING GOD’S WAY

“But Abram said to the king of Sodom, “I have raised my hand to the Lord, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth,” Genesis 14:22 (NKJV)

As a child of God you must know and believe that God has made you successful in life through the sacrifice of His son Jesus on the cross because that is His desire for you. 3 John 2 (NKJV) says, “I wish above all things that YOU may PROSPER and be in HEALTH even as your soul prospers.” Regardless of your current status in life, this truth must be registered in your heart and mind in order to prosper because wealth is your blood-bought inheritance.

God sure rewards our works of service, but He didn’t give us wealth as a reward. The finished works of Jesus made wealth the believers’ blood-bought inheritance. How well can you serve to receive all that Jesus died for you to have? When you begin to see wealth as an inheritance, you will receive with ease. The believers that see wealth as a reward for service sometime get confused when they see those who faithfully serve God struggle in poverty and lack.

A particular prophet in the Bible in 2 Kings 4:1-3 served God faithfully and yet died poor. The Bible says that after his death, debtors came to take two of his sons as bondsmen. Though as an Israelite he had a legal right to the Abrahamic covenant; he didn’t know how to access it and prosper God’s way. His wife had more spiritual wisdom to go to the prophet and she was supernaturally brough out of the lack that he got them into (2 Kings 4:1-7).

As a believer you need to know what God has said concerning wealth and live by the covenant principles that secures it in your life. In Genesis 14 Abram had gone after the four kings that took his nephew Lot and defeated them in battle. On his way back he met Melchizedek – the King of Salem and the Priest of the Most High – a type of Jesus Christ and Genesis 14:19-20 (NKJV) says, “And he (Melchizedek) blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And HE GAVE HIM A TITHE OF ALL”. Abraham knew how to prosper God’s way! He gave his tithes as a response of faith to the elements of the covenant and the blessing that was pronounced upon him.

Yielding to God’s ways doesn’t take away from you rather it positions you to take what is yours by covenant. The Psalmist said in Psalms 81:13 & 16 (NKJV) “Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! [16] He would have FED THEM ALSO WITH THE FINEST OF WHEAT; and with honey from the rock, I would have SATISFIED you.”

Abraham could confidently lift his hands and say to the king of Sodom in Genesis 14:22-23, “ … I have RAISED MY HAND to the LORD, God Most High, the Possessor of heaven and earth, 23 that I will take nothing, from a thread to a sandal strap, and that I will not take ANYTHING THAT IS YOURS, lest you should say, ‘I have made Abram rich” Abraham was literally saying, “I am in covenant with God and this covenant is more than enough! I will not have it any other way so that no one takes the glory for what God is doing in my life.”

The believer’s mentality should be, ‘if the covenant can’t deliver it to you then it is not worth it!’ The good news is this; the covenant is more than enough, and you can and should prosper God’s way.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for the covenant of prosperity. Guide me to prosper Your way in Jesus Name!
