1 Cor 4:1-2. Let a man so account of us, as of the ministers of Christ, and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
God is looking for a faithful man (Prov 20:6). His thoughts toward us are for our good and betterment (Isa 55:8-9). Therefore, He set parameters that serve as guidelines for our own good which He has in mind.
The guidelines are there so that we don’t miss our route in the journey of life. Life will give you so many turns but not all turns lead to life. Wisdom is profitable to direct (Eccl 10:10). And wisdom is putting God’s word into practice. What people say about you on this journey is important. But it is what God says that matters the most.
We all have a mandate to win souls. Heaven is depending on us to be where we need to be so as to win souls. FAITHFULNESS is the only way through which this can be achieved. God wants us to be found faithful/trustworthy of heavenly things. Faithfulness here is about being trustworthy, dependable, committed and consistent with the task at hand.
Faithfulness is the first law of increase and expansion. Without faithfulness there won’t be multiplication. If God and His Kingdom is to increase, it must be on the platform of faithfulness. It is better to be faithful(and slow in your own eyes) than to be smart and walk out of God’s covenant. David was constantly taking care of his father’s sheep. His life looked slow and unexciting compared to that of those in the city. He had to kill a bear and a lion before becoming fully equipped to face Goliath. But faithfulness to the task of caring for his father’s sheep lifted him in due time.
The path to our increase lies in our faithfulness in our service to God.
Prayer: Father, grant me the grace to be faithful to all kingdom tasks before me in Jesus name.
