Bible Reading: Psalm 8, 2 Peter 1: 1-7
“… Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou ordained strength because of thine enemies, that thou mightiest still the enemy and the avenger” Psalm 8:2(KJV)
A translation of the above scriptures will help capture its full meaning. “Through the praise of children and infants you have established a stronghold against your enemies, to silence the foe and the avenger.” Psalm 8:2 (NIV). The instrument of praise is one of the most potent force to use in battling the enemy. Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings represent the praise that we offer to God as Christians. The original source of praise for God was concentrated in Lucifer. Hear what the bible says in Ezekiel 28:13b (KJV): “…the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in the day that thou wast created”. As the anointed cherub, Lucifer had the instrument of praise created in him and was said to be full of wisdom and perfect in beauty till iniquity was found in him. In a move to dislodge the devil completely, God created babes and suckling (man) and put His praise in their mouth and ordained it with strength as an instrument to silence and still the devil, who is the enemy and avenger. It is on this premise that God inhabits our praise and makes His presence available to silence the enemy. When we render quality praise to God from a clean heart, He comes down to dwell therein, and consequently, His presence neutralizes all satanic attacks and puts the devil and its cohorts on flight. When we praise God, He comes down as a consuming fire against our foes (Hebrew 12:29).
When we render quality praise to God, He lays an ambush against our enemies for their total destruction. 2 Chronicles 20:22 says: “And when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushments against the children of Ammon, Moab, and mount Seir which were come against Judah; and they were smitten.” God has ordained the instrument of praise as a mighty weapon of war. It is the most potent of all spiritual weapons because it attracts God’s presence directly to the battle ground.
This message is coming very timely at the beginning of the year so as to properly position you for effective warfare for your total liberation from the devils harassment and intimidation. Enough is enough. However, it is very important to note that this praise induced victory we have in God is reserved only for God’s babes and sucklings (children). You must be a child of God to enjoy this divinely guided instrument of war. Jesus, at the cross of Calvary, initiated the new birth which He declared in John 3:3(KJV): “Verily, verily, I say unto thee. Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God”. This sonship was confirmed in John 1:12(KJV) “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name.”
If you have not accepted Christ this is an opportunity for you to do so in order to enjoy the usage of this potent weapon against your adversary the devil.
Prayer: Father, thank you for this very potent weapon you have given me to put a stop to all harassment of the devil.
