Bible reading: Genesis 29-30; Matthew 22:1-23
”And Jesus, moved with compassion, put forth his hand, and touched him, and saith unto him, I will; be thou clean.” – Mark 1:41
Jesus said in John 10:10, “ The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” Included in the abundant life that Jesus came for you to have is divine healing and health.
Jesus never told anybody that came to Him for healing to wait another day, rather He healed all who came to Him because that is why He came. Acts 10:38 says, “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.” Part of the good work that Jesus went about doing was healing all those who were oppressed with sickness by the devil. This is one reason nobody should ever think that God puts sicknesses on us because Jesus can’t be removing from people what God puts on them!
In Mark 1:40, the bible says, “Now a leper came to Him, imploring Him, kneeling down to Him and saying to Him, “If YOU ARE WILLING, You can make me clean.” I want you to notice that the leper wasn’t in doubt as to Jesus’ ability to heal him; he was only uncertain about His ‘willingness’ to heal. Many are in this same position; they aren’t sure of God willingness to heal them because He is either punishing them for a sin in their lives or He is teaching them a lesson.
In our text, Jesus lovingly answered with a heart of compassion saying, “… “I AM WILLING; be cleansed.” Even today He is still willing because the same compassion and power with which sins are forgiven is the same compassion and power with which He heals every sickness. He doesn’t want you in sickness any more than He wants you in sin.
Jesus told the religious elites when He healed the paralytic, “… that you may know that the Son of Man has POWER on earth to FORGIVE SINS…” (Mark 2:10). It is the same power that forgives that heals. The Psalmist affirms this truth in Psalms 103:3 when he says, “Who FORGIVES all your INIQUITIES, Who HEALS all your DISEASES,”
The same faith with which you believed that your sins are forgiven is the same faith that you need to receive total and compete healing from every sickness and disease! Be made whole today in Jesus name.
PRAYER: Thank You Lord Jesus for paying the ultimate price for my redemption on the cross.
