Bible Reading: Psalm 101
“I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” – Psalm 101:2 (KJV)
Jesus Christ died on the cross to take away our sins and rose up on Easter Sunday to draw us to himself and give us victory over death. So the Lord is ready to come unto us if we will do what the Psalmist stated in Psalm 101:2 (KJV), “I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.” If we will behave ourselves in a perfect way, God will come unto us. The question is how do you behave in a perfect way? It’s through submission to the will of God. By putting God first in everything that you do.
In the house fellowship that I attend, early this year, our host told us of his aunt who died recently and how much he missed her. Both himself and the wife stated that this woman was always calling him every morning on phone to eulogise him. He said every day around 6.00am, she would call and praise him for a few minutes. He said based on this, there was nothing she ever asked for that he denied her. Besides, he often identify what she would need and provide for her even when she did not ask.
If a man that is limited in resources can do that, can you imagine what our father in heaven would do to us if we can honour him and put him first in all that we do? No wonder the bible says in Isaiah 65:24 (KJV): “And it shall come to pass, that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.”
For God to come to us, therefore, all we need is to praise him regularly and live a life of holiness, because Hebrews 12:14 (KJV) says: “Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:”
So, whatever you are going through and no matter how old the situation has been confronting you, please check that you live a life of total obedience to God and constant praise to His holy name and He will usher you into His court as stated in Psalm 100:4 (KJV): “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.”
Prayer point: Father, come and fellowship with me today and make way for me out of my present challenges in Jesus name.
