…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Bible Reading: Psalm 60,61,62; Romans 5

“Give us help from trouble; for vain is the help of man” Psalm 60:11 (KJV)

Life is full of trouble. Trouble causes difficulty; it makes people uncomfortable, causes pain and distress. It comes whether you do the right thing or not because we live in a fallen world. But doing the right thing gives you a boldness that keeps you going. Doing the wrong things keeps you in constant fear, and this leads to bondage. God doesn’t keep His people in fear and bondage, rather He showers us with love making us come to Him willingly.

God makes provisions for His people among which is divine protection. He gathers His people under His wings like a mother bird gathers her chicks. During this period He takes absolute responsibility of your safety. Yours is to submit to His protection and be conscious of it. Elisha was conscious of God’s protection around him such that when enemy armies of Israel surrounded his city his servant cried out, “… Master what shall we do? And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them” 2 Kings 7:15-16 (KJV). No matter the situation you find yourself always be conscious that you have more support with you than the enemy can ever muster.

The position or status of your aggressor does not matter. Ask Hamaan, a right hand man of the King who tried to kill Mordecai and the whole Jews. Can you imagine how wicked people can be? Because Mordecai would not bow to him, he tried to kill Mordecai and exterminate the Jews as a whole. In the end the tables were turned on him; the gallows he made for Mordecai’s execution was the one he himself got executed on. This became possible because Mordecai and Esther turned to God and not unto man (Esther 1-8).

Trouble will come but your position in God is what matters. There is a limit to which man can help you but God has no limits. David was being pursued by the King declared an enemy of the state.  God saw him through such that he outlasted the King and took his place. This is the heritage of all of God’s people who truly trust in Him and are consciously walking in the knowledge of what God has done, is doing and can do for us. Psalm 60:12 says. “Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.” Remember, He is still the same today and forever. He never changes.

Trust and submit yourself to God and your testimonies will be read all over the world like we do David’s today.

Prayer: Dear Father, thank You for all the troubles You have kept me from that I know not, and the ones You are allowing me to pass through because of the testimonies that will come out from them.
