Topic: Justified by Faith
Bible Reading: Psalm 68-69; Romans 3.
Memory Verse: “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.” Romans 3:28 (KJV) .
To Justify is to declare righteous. It means pronouncing a sinner to be righteous. Justified by faith then means being declared righteous by your faith in Christ. It means by your faith in Christ, your sins have been forgiven. It does not matter how long you have committed the sins or how terrible they were, your faith in Jesus cleanses you of them all and you become justified! It then means your righteousness is not by what you do but by your faith in Jesus as Lord and Saviour. That’s why Apostle Paul says in Romans 3:28 (KJV), “Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.”
The implication of this is that you cannot boast of being justified by your works or your holiness because it is given to you because of your faith in Christ and you can only maintain that justification by continuously having faith in him! And any other person can have the same justification if they have faith in Christ. To have faith in Christ means you believe in Him and will obey Him. In John 8:31 (KJV), “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;”
Are you obeying the word of God in your day to day activity and in your relationship with others. If so, you should believe God for answers to your prayers. The Lord Jesus says in Mark 11:24 (KJV), “Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.” Imagine a Christian community that decided to pray for rain and they chose to come together for a corporate prayer. As they gathered in an open place for the prayer, nobody came with an umbrella except a small boy. He believed God will answer their prayer immediately and was prepared for it but others apparently did not believe so! This is similar to the account of the Bible in Acts 12: 5-16; where the church prayed for the release of Peter but were not expecting their answer so quickly and therefore did not believe when they heard that Peter was by their door!
What situation are you facing now? Pray and believe for instant answer and see God in action.
Prayer Point:
Father, please keep my faith in you till the end in Jesus name.
