BIBLE READING: PSALMS 137, 138, 139; 1 CORINTHIANS 13
“The LORD will perfect that which concerneth me: thy mercy, O LORD, endureth for ever: forsake not the works of thine own hands” Psalm 138:8 (KJV).
No man can attain perfection in life without God. Man is always striving to fix everything concerning him to no avail. No man however rich, however learned religious or intelligent can attain perfection on his own. When a person comes to the point of acknowledgement of his inadequacy, he will see the need to receive the life of Christ and to totally surrender and humbly depend on God for help. When a sinner turns to God in his weakness for help, he becomes a project in God’s hand. God uses the word, the Holy Spirit and the Church family to build people in order to perfect them. As one yields to God, he received the divine nature of God and then begins a life-time journey that will ultimately lead to perfection. This perfection will affect every area of life.
God is interested in and committed to our total well being. “Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul propereth” 3 John 2 (KJV). This is God’s desire for all of his creations. His thoughts for man is that of good and not of evil to give man an enviable future. The journey to perfection will demand obedience, submission and commitment to God and to his word. As one co-operates with God, everything concerning his spiritual needs, physical, financial emotional marital and mental will be perfected by God.
PRAYER: Dear Lord, perfect all that concerns me in Jesus name.
