Topic: Revealer of deep and secret things
Bible Reading: Daniel 1-2; 1 John 2.
Memory Verse: “He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.” Daniel 2:22 (KJV).
There are several deep and secret things that we do not know about ourselves, others, the world and the heavens. There is only one custodian of every knowledge and that is the Almighty God. He knows all things (1 John 3:20). There is no secret under the sun that is hidden from God because He is everywhere. So if you close the door and lock yourself inside or you go down into a cave and cover the mouth, He will still see you. He says in Jeremiah 23:23-24 (KJV), “Am I a God at hand, saith the LORD, and not a God afar off? [24] Can any hide himself in secret places that I shall not see him? saith the LORD. Do not I fill heaven and earth? saith the LORD.”
So whatever you do and wherever you do something, take note that God sees you even if you are able to do away with the human witnesses. Thus, a man was sick and several people had prayed for him without any reprieve. And so they called for this man of God. He also prayed and there was no response, then he went to God to find out what was holding back the healing of the man. In answering his request, God told him to ask the sick man the secret that he had concerning some men who worked for him. The sick man said he did not have any. Then God revealed to the man of God that there was a time the man had a case with some natives on some large plots of land and the case was charged to court. When it was the day for the natives to witness in court, he arranged for some men to drown the boat of the natives and ensured they all died. The men did so. Later the sick man then arranged to kill his henchmen who drowned the natives in order to obliterate the trail! He thought nobody else would know!
By the time the man of God reminded him of the case, he asked the man to go and not pray for him again. He missed another opportunity instead of seeking for forgiveness!
Do you have any secret that you are harboring and feel safe nobody knows, even if that is correct, God knows and you should seek for mercy if you have wronged anyone so that you can end well. Don’t wait till when God will reveal it because as you read in the case of the sick man above, “He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.” Daniel 2:22 (KJV).
Action Point:
Examine yourself and confess of any unconfessed secret sins you have committed to God and ask for mercy.
