Bible Reading: Psalm 127:1-5
“Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.” Psalm 127:1 KJV.
God is the Alpha and Omega. He knows yesterday, today and tomorrow. So he knows our future. Hence we need to ask God about his purpose for creating us. Why are you on earth? Some are meant to be doctors but are busy working as accountants. In that case, no matter the diligence, he will not fulfill his destiny as he is on a wrong route. Psalm 127:1(KJV) says: “Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.”
Except we know the purpose of God for our lives, we may be banging our heads against the wall. How then do I know my destiny? By waiting on the Lord and seeking his face in praise and prayer. The bible says in Matthew 7:7(KJV): “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.” Our loving father recognizes our limitation that we do not know a lot of things because we often take decision based on outward appearances but God looks inward. This is why he says in Jeremiah 33:3(KJV): “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
So let’s call on Him so that He can show us those things we do not know. And the more we call on Him, the more He provides our needs. The bible is clear on this when it says in Matthew 6:33(KJV): “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Where God has already revealed your purpose to you, you need to continuously seek him, so that you will not miss it or do a journey of 40 days in 40 years! May his word in Psalm 32:8 KJV. “I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” find expression in our lives in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, open my eyes and my heart and reveal to me your purpose for my life in Jesus name.
