BIBLE READING: Exodus 34, 35; Mathew 22: 24-46
“The Lord said unto my Lord, sit thou on my right hand till I make thine enemies thy footstool” – Mathew 22: 44 (KJV).
Satan is our arch enemy being the enemy of our God. All his agents in the kingdom of darkness, the demons or fallen angels have become our enemies. Apart from these evil spirits, Satan has human agents as extension of his wickedness on earth. These human agents grant him access to people and their affairs. Unfortunately, so many have sold their souls to work in Satan’s team, this is why we have so much wickedness in our society. The influences and activities of the devil are so widespread in our world. So many people, including honest Christians, have fallen victim to satanic wickedness in the offices, institutions, business centres and in market places.
The above scripture tells us that the father promised the son that he will make his enemies his son’s footstool. Jesus is the head of the body (the church). By implication, the enemies put in the son’s footstool is the enemy in our footstool. This was accomplished when God empowered the church by restoring the lost dominion. Jesus bruised the head of Satan by his death and he rose to declare that all power in heaven and on earth has been given to him. To empower the church to exercise dominion, he empowered man to go in his name: “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy and nothing shall by any means hurt you”. Luke 10: 15 (KJV).
Prayer: I receive power to trample on the enemies in Jesus name.
