…Spreading the gospel of Christ

Topic: Seek God in faith

Bible Reading: Judges 12-14; Luke 9:37-62.

Memory Verse: “Then Manoah intreated the Lord, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.” Judges 13:8 (KJV)

An angel appeared to a barren woman, the mother of Samson before he was born and told her that she was going to be pregnant and have a child. He also gave her conditions to fulfill after the birth (Judges 13: 2-5). This was in the midst of evil deeds by the Israelites but God remembered His own. It does not matter the environment in which you are operating or your background, God will single you out for blessing this month in Jesus name.

The husband of the woman was not there when the woman experienced the visitation. However, she ran to tell her husband. This is a lesson for us as children of God. Do you share information with your spouse? Can your spouse look through your phones or tablets without a fight? As children of God, you must be free with your spouse concerning every area of your life. That is the plan of God for couples. Genesis 2:25 (KJV) says, “And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and were not ashamed.”

Secondly, there was trust between Manoah, the husband and his wife. The moment the wife told him about the visitation, he did not doubt but only went forward to ask for further instructions. As spouses, you should not only be open to each other, you should trust yourselves. Based on this trust, Manoah did not doubt the word of God that came to the family through his wife though they had been barren for years! Rather, he believed God and went further to ask how they will nurture the child! The Bible says in Judges 13:8 (KJV), “Then Manoah intreated the Lord, and said, O my Lord, let the man of God which thou didst send come again unto us, and teach us what we shall do unto the child that shall be born.”

He showed faith in the word that was delivered to them by the angel (though Manoah thought he was a prophet). And God answered his request because it was done in faith in the word of God. How faithful are you concerning the word of God? It’s also important to note that though Manoah thought the message was delivered to his wife by a man of God, he did not start looking for how to locate the man but went straight to God who sent him. You should not be running after the men of God but focus on God who sends the men and angels the message. Manoah’s request was to God directly and rightly, God sent the angel back to the family to confirm the message.

Do you have issues concerning a message, Prophecy or word of God, please go to God in your closet and ask Him for confirmation or clarity. He will surely answer you. He says in Jeremiah 33:3 (KJV), “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and shew thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”

Prayer point:
Father, please strengthen me in faith so that I can exhibit it in all my relationship with You in Jesus Christ’s name.
