Bible Reading: 2 CHRONICLES 21,22; JOHN 14.
“I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you” – John 14:18 (KJV).
The world we live in today was not the way God intended and created it at first. God created the world and put man in it with authority to take charge. But man gave away that authority to the devil. The bible puts it this way, ” …God made us plain and simple, but we have made ourselves very complicated” – Ecclesiates 7:29 (GNT). This complication started when Adam chose to listen to Satan’s words. But thank God for sending His son Jesus who had given us back this authority.
Jesus told His disciples He will be with them through the Holy Spirit, the Comforter. The Holy Spirit has been our comforter in this comfortless world. Helping us to remember the things Jesus says in situations that ordinarily won’t permit such, and also to act the way Jesus acted in situations that were not pleasant. He helps us to remain in control of our lives and destiny.
Jesus said in John 14:19, “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more, but ye see me: because i live, ye shall live also.” How happy we are that Jesus still lives with us. We have his mind, we speak like Him, we act like Him, all through the help of the Holy Spirit who gives us what Jesus kept for us.
Remember, also, that this same Spirit was involved in the creation of the world. So He will make you more comfortable than you can imagine. All you need to do is come to Jesus today.
Prayer: Lord Jesus, I thank You for sending your Spirit to me. Help me to take full advantage of the presence of Your Spirit in my life.
