Bible Reading: Psalm 66 & 67; Romans 7
“Say unto God, How terrible art thou in thy works! through the greatness of thy power shall thine enemies submit themselves unto thee” Psalms 66:3 (KJV)
God is the source of power. Psalm 62:11b says, “..Power belongeth unto God”. If power belongs unto God, why are there so many different kinds of powers being manifested today?
God created all things and persons. But one of His creatures rebelled and took many others with him. The giftings God gave them was still with them, however, because they are separated from their source, God, their giftings were corrupted. Moreso, this same creature made it his goal to corrupt all that God has created.
He went to Eden and deceived man, whom God gave power over the earth. By obeying the devil, man handed the power to rule the earth to the devil. Since then, the devil has used this power over the earth wickedly, all in a bid to get back at God. Man has been at his mercy ever since, but God, out of His love brought man out of the power of the wicked one.
Jesus was sent to the earth to save man. Because of the situation on earth, God anointed Jesus with the Holy Ghost and with power to correct the ills brought by the devil (Acts 20:38). The devil only understands the language of power; demons on sighting Jesus begged Him not to destroy them before their time (Matthew 8:29). Miracles were performed by the power of God to the point that the dead were raised back to life.
Power still belongs to God. He gives it out for a purpose. He specifically empowers His servants for His Will to be done on earth. No wonder Jesus and His disciples went about doing good by opening the eyes of the blind, healing the sick, raising the dead, and bringing people to God, etc.
He still empowers His people today for His Will to be done. He does it through Jesus Christ and by the Holy Spirit. Testimonies abound of God’s power in manifestation in and around us today. Make God’s will your priority and His power to do His Will will come upon you.
