TOPIC: RESULTS COME WITH PATIENCE
“But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience.” – Luke 8:15 (KJV)
In our text today, Jesus was teaching on the parable of the sower who went to plant seeds and said that those who bear fruit are the ones who receive the Word of God with joy, keep it in their hearts, and are patient. The truth is, if you are going to get results from God’s Word then you need patience. You must give the Word of God time to yield results.
Patience is not passively whiling away time and ‘waiting’ for God to do something. It is far more than crying hymns. Patience is active! It is a call of the soul that can’t be denied. Patience keeps at it. Patience keeps declaring God’s Word even in the midst of contradictory facts. Patience keeps seeing the unseen from the Word, it keeps sowing the seeds and it keeps singing and chanting the songs of victory.
It is this force of patience that produces the character, boldness, and tenacity of faith in a believer’s life that makes him/her know that no matter what happens, there is only one outcome in the situation and that outcome is victory. Romans 5:4 (KJV) says, “And patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed;…” If as a believer, you don’t engage the force of patience and you keep quitting and running in the face of every opposition, you won’t be able to develop and have this kind of unswerving confidence and boldness.
Where others see storms and coward away, you see opportunities to SURF! Like David, you charge at the ‘Goliaths’ of life that others run away from because you have tasted victory with bears and lions. Don’t give up because the Word of God works. Give it time because it will give you results that will outlive time in Jesus Name!
DECLARE: I am bold and courageous; I obtain results on God’s Word patiently.
