Bible Reading: Psalm 104
“Bless the Lord , O my soul. O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty.” – Psalm 104:1 (KJV)
It is often said that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder. When you look at the earth, you will see the trees, the rivers, mountains, sky, different animals and different races of human being. They, and other things on earth, were created by God.
Looking at the way God created all things, no one can be compared with him. The bible says in Genesis 1:1 (KJV), “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.” Considering the way man is created, the way the various parts of our body function, the way we reproduce, the way we subdue all other creations, there is no doubt that no one can be compared with our God. God did not only create us but also gives us the power of dominion over all other creations! In Genesis 1:28 KJV, “God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” So God made us super-creation to direct the affairs of the world.
The world itself is created by God to last for as long as he wished. The bible says in Psalm 104:5 (KJV): “Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed for ever.” Imagine a house that is built, it can last for years but hardly is any lasting for up to two hundred years! But our God laid the foundation of the earth to last forever!
To sustain the earth, God further provides rain , sunlight, moonlight, for us to cater for various needs of humanity. He created the plants and animals for our use and consumption and gives human beings wisdom to breed other animals so that we can continue to have access to them!
Meanwhile, men work for various employers for providing them salary that will enable them pay for a few things but does not create enough time to appreciate God who provided all these things without asking for monetary reward! Shouldn’t man pay more attention to the creator who has given him this opportunity?
Action point: Thank God for various creations you can imagine for at least fifteen minutes.
