Bible Reading: Psalm 129:1-8
“Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.” – Psalm 34:19 (KJV).
Every true believer faces one challenge or the other at different times. Jesus did not promise his followers that there will be no challenges, rather he stated that God will deliver them from it all. Psalm 34:19 (KJV) says: “Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
No wonder God says we are more than conquerors. This shows that before we get engaged in any war, we are already winners if we are His true children in obedience. But that does not preclude us from facing various storms.
So whatever storm you are facing, remember that it cannot prevail over you as stated in Psalm 129:2 (KJV): “Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.” They will never prevail over you because God’s word must accomplish the purpose it is sent concerning you.
As long as the affliction is not as a result of your sin, then note that God must have allowed it so that you can learn some lessons from it. So let’s be sensitive to the Holy Spirit even in times of storm. Every storm is meant to do one of three things: to correct you; protect you from greater danger; or perfect your service by drawing your attention to some weaknesses which need to be addressed in your life. Every storm in your life shall cease this moment in Jesus name.
Prayer: Father, send your word to me and deliver me from every affliction of my life or household in Jesus name.
